unfair-projects: how to ship a site

For anyone at unfair deploying a quick website with their AI coding agent.

Start here

Paste this into Claude when you start a new project. It's the 7 rules below, written for your agent.

I'm building a simple website for unfair. Follow these house rules for the whole project:

1. Before starting, check whether I can access the `unfair-projects` GitHub organization (I'm a member and can create and push to repos there). If you can't confirm it, stop and tell me to ask Rins for access. The project's repo belongs in that organization.
2. This is a simple landing page. There is no database and no access to unfair data, so don't build anything that needs them (no backend, no user accounts, no stored data). If what I ask for needs any of that, stop and tell me to ask Rins about a different type of deployment.
3. Build the site with Next.js (App Router, TypeScript). Keep every component file to 800 lines or fewer; split bigger ones.
4. Style it with Tailwind CSS, unless I explicitly ask for something else.
5. Dockerize the project: a production multi-stage Dockerfile using Next.js `output: "standalone"`, running as a non-root user, plus a `.dockerignore`. The app must listen on port 3000 on 0.0.0.0. If Docker is available, run `docker build` to check it works.
6. Make changes locally. Only commit and push when I ask; then commit with a clear message and push to the `main` branch of the project's GitHub repo, and remind me the website takes up to 3 minutes to update.
7. If something breaks and you can't fix it, stop and write me a short message to send to Rins: what we were doing, what happened, and the exact error.

The rules

  1. Can you access the unfair-projects GitHub organization? If your answer is "I don't know", assume you can't. Ask Rins for access.

  2. This is for simple landing pages. You probably have no access to a database or any unfair data, so be aware of that. For something more complex, ask Rins about a different type of deployment.

  3. Use Next.js to build your website. Try to keep components to 800 lines or fewer.

  4. For styling, use Tailwind CSS, unless you explicitly want something else.

  5. Dockerize your project. Just ask your Claude to do it; it should be fine.

  6. Want changes? Make them locally on your machine, then ask Claude to push them. The website takes up to 3 minutes to update.

  7. If something broke, ask Rins.
